Markham Jackson

Markham Jackson has many years’ experience in aviation. After several years working for airlines in commercial and operations roles, he launched his own company, Jet Age Services International. This initially specialised in brokering passenger charters across the Atlantic and later South Africa and Australia.

Later it branched out into cargo operations, specialising in the carriage of fresh foods (fruit and vegetables) and meat particularly in Africa. One of the company’s other areas of expertise was the carriage of livestock, for which there was a separate division.

Markham, now retired, joined BACA about 15 years ago and for the past 10 years has been on its council, recently for a two-year term as chairman and now as chief executive. BACA’s annual awards and two networking lunches are among the highlights of the UK’s aviation calendar.

Panelist Profiles:

 

Martin Lener has grown up in the worldwide logistics industry; he joined Tyrolean Airways early in 1980. He developed his career with different positions within the Tyrolean group of companies but had a sharp and enthusiastic focus on business aviation from 1985 onwards. In 1999 the Swarovski family rewarded Martin with the controls at Tyrolean Jet Services, and in recent years Martin has further diversified the company.

 

Stephen Wells has over 40 years’ experience in commercial aviation, specialising for the past 30 years in the operation, management and marketing of business and VIP aircraft. Stephen is commercial director of Twinjet Aviation, which operates A319ACJ and other business jet types. He is also commercial director of The Charter Company, a London-based charter brokerage, and a past chairman and sitting council member of the Baltic Air Charter Association.

 

With over 18 years’ experience in the aviation industry, George Mavros has risen to the top of his field through hard work and diligence. Having gained a degree in Marketing and Aviation Management he continues to ensure his knowledge within the industry is up to date by attending all relevant seminars and exhibitions. The opening of the Skylink Services Executive Terminal has been an aspiration that finally transpired in June 2010. George continues to provide clients and suppliers with his personal support and experience to ensure that the services provided by Skylink Services are of the highest standard.

 

Thomas Mayr was formerly a lieutenant in the German Air Force. He gained extensive experience in general and executive aviation with Swissport. Since 2009 he has been Rheinland Air Service FBO manager.
